Ophthalmic Assistant 2 - HSCI 104
Ophthalmic Assistant 2 builds on content presented in the first course-Ophthalmic Assistant 1. Learners are introduced to more ophthalmic skills including colour vision testing, instrument maintenance, and visual field testing. Ocular diseases and disorders, ocular emergencies and lasers are covered and patient services, instrument maintenance, workplace relationships, and office procedures help round out the learner's ancillary knowledge.
This course addresses the entry-level competencies identified in the Canadian Society of Ophthalmic Medical Personnel (CSOMP) dated January 2002, and the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) dated 2002, certification content areas.
