Can equipment be donated instead of money?

Yes, we accept gifts-in-kind. You can contact us to discuss the nature of your gift and to ensure your gift will be used as you intend. Please email Anthony.Salekin@sait.ca or call 403.284.7046.  

Can a gift be designated for a particular program and/or scholarship area?

Yes, you can advise us on the criteria for the award, whether it's for financial need or academic excellence, but you may not designate a gift for a particular student. If you decide to designate a gift please email Brett.Windle@sait.ca or call 403.284.8908. 

How much of my contribution is used for administrative purposes?

We take our fiscal responsibilities seriously and are proud of our track record in managing donor funds. In our 2018/19 fiscal year, we expect to raise $13.5 million at a cost of $2.3 million. This translates into .17¢ for every dollar we raise.

In 2017/18 we invested $2.24 million in fundraising activities and raised $16.6 million.

Does SAIT use a charitable tax receipt, and is there a minimum?

We issue a charitable tax receipt for the full value of all philanthropic gifts — there is no minimum donation. When you make your gift, please make sure all of the information is correctly filled out.

How do I know my information is kept private?

Please review SAIT's Privacy Policy, which includes information about how we comply with anti-spam legislation, our procedures regarding personal information and our policy for information we collect. The following paragraph relates to matters of personal information:

"If you choose to give us personal information via the internet that we or our educational partners may need to correspond with you, process an order or provide you with a subscription, it is our intent to let you know how we will use such information. If you tell us that you do not wish to have this information used as a basis for further contact with you, we will respect your wishes."

Why is there a Student Calling Program that contacts Alumni?

There are over 120,000 alumni and for various reasons, we like to stay in touch. We want to make sure we have correct addresses and email information to communicate with as many as we can. We also like to ensure that as many alumni as possible don't miss out on their free subscription to LINK magazine, our e-newsletter, ELINK and other information about perks and benefits available to all SAIT graduates.

Student callers also call alumni to raise funds for Annual Giving programs such as the SAIT Opportunities Fund and the I.G. Lewis Student Emergency Fund. We are very proud of our student callers who act as ambassadors to the SAIT alumni community.

Can I volunteer at SAIT events?

Yes, we have a number of volunteer opportunities at SAIT Alumni and Development events. You can register as a volunteer and we will contact you to find out about your interests and provide you with details about our events and how you can help.
