Donate to SAIT

Every year thousands of donors step up and provide critical support to students at SAIT. Whether it's through student awards, student-led crowdfunding projects or through the I.G. Lewis Student Emergency Fund, this support changes lives for the better.

At the heart of every donation is the desire to make a difference in a student's life.

Additional donor information

Can equipment be donated instead of money?

Yes, we accept gifts-in-kind. You can contact us to discuss the nature of your gift and to ensure your gift will be used as you intend. Please email  Anthony.Salekin@sait.ca or call 403.284.7046.

Can I make a gift of shares?

Yes, SAIT welcomes gifts of publicly listed securities such as mutual funds, shares, and stocks with the assistance of a professional broker.

You can make a gift of shares to SAIT by transferring them electronically and we strongly recommend you consult your financial advisor, securities broker or another financial representative to assist you in making the transfer. To make a gift of shares, please follow the instructions on this form.

For more information or to initiate a gift, please contact Anthony.Salekin@sait.ca or call 403.284.7046.

Please note: Transferring shares between brokerage firms often take 3 to 4 business days and price fluctuations can occur. It is SAIT's policy to sell donated securities as soon as possible. Your gift will be valued at the closing price on the day the security is received in our account and you will be issued a charitable tax receipt for that value. To ensure a charitable tax receipt for the current year is issued, please initiate your gift before Dec. 15.

Can a gift be designated for a particular program and/or scholarship area?

Yes, you can advise us on the criteria for the award, whether it's for financial need or academic excellence, but you may not designate a gift for a particular student. If you decide to designate a gift please email  Brett.Windle@sait.ca or call 403.284.8908.

How much of my contribution is used for administrative purposes?

We take our fiscal responsibilities seriously, and are proud of our track record in managing donor funds. In SAIT’s 2019/20 fiscal year we expect to raise $13.5 million at a cost of $1.9 million. This translates into a cost of $0.14 for every dollar we raise.

In 2017/18 we invested $2.24 million in fundraising activities and raised $16.6 million.

Charitable license number: 107995789RR0001

Does SAIT use a charitable tax receipt, and is there a minimum?

We issue a charitable tax receipt for the full value of all philanthropic gifts — there is no minimum donation. When you make your gift, please make sure all of the information is correctly filled out.

If you made a donation and did not receive a receipt, please email  Emily.Borrelli@sait.ca or call 403.284.8419.

How do I know my information is kept private?

Please review SAIT's Privacy Policy, which includes information about how we comply with anti-spam legislation, our procedures regarding personal information and our policy for information we collect. The following paragraph relates to matters of personal information:

"If you choose to give us personal information via the internet that we or our educational partners may need to correspond with you, process an order or provide you with a subscription, it is our intent to let you know how we will use such information. Why is there a Student Calling Program that contacts alumni?

The Student Calling program is made up of a team of Student Development Representatives — SAIT students — who connect SAIT graduates back to their alma mater. Student callers will ask about the SAIT experience from an alumni perspective and educate alumni on how they can support SAIT students through a variety of giving opportunities. They'll also provide updates on SAIT events, campus developments and other ways alumni can stay connected or get involve.

We are very proud of our student callers who act as ambassadors to the SAIT alumni community.
