Transit and Parking
2021/22 parking rates are effective July 1, 2021
Parking on campus will return to pre-COVID operations on July 1. See below for detailed parking information including rates and payment options.
Through June 30, 2021, parking will continue to be available at a flat rate of $6 per day, per entry.
If you’re an employee with a parking pass in a reserved lot, your spot will continue to be held until your return to campus. Existing access cards will be reactivated once you purchase parking online. Recurring billing is offered via credit card through the online system. Payroll deduction is no longer available.
The following COVID-19 protocols will also remain in place through June 30, 2021.
- Lots P1, P2, P3, and P6 require credit card insertion at the entrance, and nothing is required when leaving.
- Lots P5, P7, P8, P9, P10 and P11 require payment via the HONK mobile app. Download the app.
- Lots P12, P15 and P17 are closed. Parking in these areas will not be permitted and will be enforced.
- Load zone use will be limited.

Student and residence parking passes go on sale Monday, Aug. 16 at 8 am 📢
Parking passes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Passes are limited in quantity and a waitlist may be in effect.
Parking passes can be purchased online with a credit card. To pay in-person via cash, cheque, debit, Visa or MasterCard, visit the Parking Office in Campus Centre, V215.Purchase a parking pass online
Student parking passes for lot P1 are available for purchase online shortly before the beginning of each term. Parking passes for students are available at a monthly rate. Students can set up recurring monthly payments, or prepay for two, four or eight months.
Students living on campus in residence require a monthly parking pass for overnight parking. Residence passes are available for lot P1 at a monthly rate. Students living in residence can set up recurring monthly payments, or prepay for two, four or eight months.
After you purchase your pass, you can collect it during residence move-in.
SAIT employees can purchase a monthly parking pass for lot P6, levels two and three. Pro-rated costs are not available. Recurring billing is offered via credit card through the online system.
Visitor and daily parking
Visitor and daily parking are available at daily rates in lots P1, P2, P3, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9B. Motorcycle parking is also available in lot 25. Daily permits are valid for the day of purchase only unless otherwise stated.
Pay on exit: Lots P1, P2, P3, P6
Express pay by credit card at the exit terminal. Cash payments are also accepted at the six pay station locations listed below. Payment must be made immediately prior to exiting the parking lot.

Or, current students can pay using your SAIT eCard at the Parking Office in Campus Centre, V215.
Value cards: Lots P1, P2, P3, P6
Save on daily parking with a value card! 💰 For each purchase of $150 you’ll receive $15 worth of free parking. The maximum value the card will hold is $300.
Value cards can be purchased and reloaded at the Parking Office. Cards can also be reloaded at one of the six pay stations listed above. The balance remaining on the card will be shown whenever the card is used and may also be checked at the Parking Office.
Refunds are not available on lost, stolen or unused portions of value cards. A one-time fully refundable deposit of $10 is required with initial purchase.

SAIT parking lots and roadways are monitored to ensure the safety of our commuters and the quality of our facilities is maintained. Tickets will be issued to vehicles that do not comply with parking and transportation regulations. Review the list of parking violations and associated fines online.
Pay a fine
Fines can be paid online with a credit card or in person at the Parking Office in Campus Centre, V215. In-person payment is accepted by cash, cheque, debit, Visa and MasterCard.
Appeal of a parking fine must be submitted within five days following the ticket's issue date. Tickets can be appealed in the following cases:
- mechanical failure of parking payment devices (only when no other functioning device was available
- a factual error in the parking ticket, including location, license plate number or date and time
- genuine extenuating circumstances, over which the appellant had no control
Appeals can be made online or by obtaining a notice of appeal form from the SAIT Parking Office. Appeals made outside the required time allowance or made without a proper justification will be denied.

Train and bus service is available via Calgary Transit. The CTrain stops at the SAIT/ACAD/Jubilee station directly connected to Campus Centre.

Biking to SAIT
SAIT main campus is near many far-reaching pathways and located on the 10th street bike lane. Bike racks are across campus and bicycle lockboxes can be rented from Recreation. There are two bike locker locations available:
- in front of The Gateway on the west side of the soccer field
- in L3 of the P6 parkade.
