Apprenticeship 101
Ideal for: Individuals who are new to the concept of apprenticeships and are exploring careers in the skilled trades.
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the apprenticeship system in Alberta, including its historical roots, legislative framework, and the various pathways available to enter a trade.
Participants will gain clarity on how the apprenticeship model works and how to take the first steps toward a rewarding trades career.
Program length: 1 to 1.5 hrs

Apprenticeship 102
Ideal for: Individuals already enrolled in an apprenticeship program. Building on the knowledge from Apprenticeship 101, this advanced course offers deeper insight into navigating the apprenticeship system effectively.
Participants will learn about key milestones, practical strategies for progression, and how to achieve both their Journeyperson certification and Red Seal Endorsement.
While this course can stand alone, it complements and expands upon the foundational content covered in 101.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
