Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy, this multifaceted program fosters a supportive and inclusive environment through targeted mentorship, barrier reduction strategies and initiatives that promote cultural change. By promoting equity and belonging, we aim to empower more women to pursue and thrive in skilled trades careers.

Through this program, we will:

1. Build mentorship momentum

We host engaging Mentorship Momentum events to create a vibrant community of practice for women apprentices. These gatherings offer mentorship, peer support and valuable knowledge-sharing opportunities with experienced industry professionals.

2. Reduce barriers to participation

We offer wrap around financial support to assist women in overcoming obstacles to attending apprenticeship programs.

3. Promote inclusive workplaces

To foster inclusive environments, we offer:

  • Allyship for apprentices: Online learning modules designed for apprentices.
  • Inclusive culture workshops: Delivered to employers to promote workplace equity.
  • Monthly meet-ups: Allyship sessions that build community and support among apprenticeship students, instructors and alumni.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
