Answers to frequently asked questions

The best first step is to have a conversation with your instructor. They may be able to provide suggestions on how to successfully complete your work.

There are many academic supports available to you at the Lamb Learner Success Centre. We offer learning strategy appointments, tutoring, financial advising, and, of course, you can always speak to an accessibility advisor about your needs. You can also request assistance through our early support self-referral program. The service is completely confidential and can connect you with many other resources available to you at SAIT.

To apply for a medically related leave or withdrawal, students must start by having a conversation with their Academic Chair or Academic Advisor. Following that conversation, please complete the online Medical Leave/Withdraw application form. Medical documentation will be required.

If you do not want to medically withdraw from all your courses for the semester and are looking to withdraw only from a select course(s), please complete the Accessibility intake form and book an appointment with an Accessibility Advisor.

Retroactive medical withdrawals are not permitted except under extenuating circumstances. Please review AC 3.19.1 Student Leaves Procedure for more information.

You can begin by speaking with your Academic Advisor. They are very knowledgeable about the many SAIT resources available to you.

You can also visit the Student Development and Counselling office. They work to promote the well-being and success of all students through free in-person, telephone or video appointments.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
