Schedule 4: Canada Student Grant for Students with Disabilities (CSG-D)

The Canada Student Grant for Students with Disabilities is provided to address the financial needs of students with a documented disability. It is available once per loan year.

To be eligible, you must:

  • have a documented disability (see documentation requirements)
  • have applied for a student loan and have at least $1 of Canada calculated need
  • complete a Schedule 4 application with an Accessibility Advisor.

Schedule 4: Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment - Students with Disabilities (CSG-DSE)

The Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment - Students with Permanent Disabilities is provided to students with a documented permanent disability (PD), or a persistent or prolonged disability (PPD).

The grant is intended to support exceptional education-related costs associated with the student’s disability.

To be eligible, you must:

  • have a documented disability (see documentation requirements)
  • have applied for a student loan and have at least $1 of Canada calculated need
  • complete a Schedule 4 application with an Accessibility Advisor.

Schedule 4: Alberta Grant for Students with Disabilities (GFD)

The Alberta Grant for Students with Disabilities is provided to address the financial needs of students with a documented disability who do not qualify for Canada student loans, but do qualify for Alberta student loans. It is available once per loan year.

To be eligible, you must:

  • have a documented disability (see documentation requirements)
  • have applied for an Alberta student loan and have at least $1 of calculated need
  • complete a Schedule 4 application with an Accessibility Advisor.

Apprentices must apply for the GFD prior to their study period start date.

Foundational Learning Assistance program

The Foundational Learning Assistance program provides financial support to those enrolled in our English Language Foundations, Academic Upgrading, or Indigenous Pathways programs who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or refugees, Alberta residents, and are 18 years of age or older with limited financial resources.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
