Funding programs
Through a range of government-supported programs, organizations can access highly skilled students and graduates while significantly reducing hiring, training, and innovation costs.
These funding programs are designed to help industries build future-ready teams, accelerate research and applied projects, and strengthen their workforce with fresh perspectives and in-demand skills.
By partnering with post-secondary institutions, employers can invest strategically in innovation, productivity, and long-term competitiveness.
Training and Workforce Development
The Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG) empowers employers to strengthen their workforce by investing in training that builds essential productivity skills aligned with business goals. This employer-driven program helps organizations prepare both current and future employees for success in a competitive market.
Through CAPG, employers apply on behalf of their team members and receive financial support for training that enhances efficiency, innovation, and overall workforce competitiveness.

Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and Internships
Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Grants
Canadian and Alberta government programs make it easier for employers to bring post-secondary students into their organizations.
These initiatives provide substantial financial support to offset student wages during work-integrated learning placements (practicums and internships), reducing hiring costs while giving students valuable real-world experience.
By leveraging these grants, employers can access fresh talent, strengthen their workforce, and contribute to developing the next generation of skilled professionals while advancing business goals.
SAIT is not responsible for changes in criteria, subsidies or supporting organizations.
