I am a Registered Psychologist with 38 years of experience supporting people in achieving their goals. I have been working at SAIT since 2010. I use a non-judgmental, collaborative and thoughtful approach toward helping clients connect with the life they want to lead. I value diversity, kindness, creating a perspective of understanding and an appreciation for different perspectives.
Over the years, I have been influenced by a number of approaches to counselling, including family systems, solution-focused, narrative therapy and CBT. I completed training to use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for clients who want to address past trauma. In addition to working with a wide variety of concerns, I have experience working with substance use disorders and relationship issues.
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Calgary in 1984. I received both a B.A. and an M.A. in Clinical Applied Psychology at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. Calgary feels like home now!
When my children were little, I took a course in cake decorating and loved it. Since then, I have baked and cooked and found other ways to be creative whenever I can. I love the intrinsic beauty in nature and architecture. I also find that humour can be the best medicine.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
