Jing Huang, SAIT Counsellor

I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree with a clinical specialization from University of Calgary. Working with clients to pursue their full potential of a balanced and productive life is essential to my work as a counsellor.

I deeply believe that everyone deserves to live their life full of joy and achievement, free of distress. For this reason, I am committed to helping people identify their strengths, to develop resilience, to heal and grow, and to move forward.

I have worked in multiple non-profit settings and have a strong background in supporting vulnerable and marginalized populations experiencing complex mental health challenges, trauma, and life adversities as well as working with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Working from a trauma-informed perspective and strengths-based approach, I excel at supporting clients to reconnect with their sense of being, passion, purpose, and peace. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends in nature, hiking, camping, fishing, and more.

Languages spoken: English and Mandarin.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
