Student Life

Residence life management team

Residence life coordinators (RLCs) are full-time professional staff who provide support to students living in residence and supervise the resident advisor team. You can meet with an RLC to discuss anything to do with your success (including supports/resources) and community life. You will also meet with an RLC if there has been a violation of the residence community living standards.

Resident advisors

Resident advisors are post-secondary students who live and learn in residence with you. They are peer mentors who plan fun events for the community, can listen if you have any concerns, and can help you navigate college life.

Advisors also know about many of the resources available on campus. If you ever need support while living in residence, your advisors is a great first point of contact. If they can’t help you, they will be able to connect you to someone who can.

Residence council

Residence council is a group of current residents who meet with the RLMT to share ideas and offer valuable feedback to help shape the residence program. With your help, we can identify new ideas, programs, and initiatives to continually improve the community. Residence council also has the opportunity to run fun events in the community, while developing leadership skills.

The residence council meets with residence management once a month and may participate in other activities.

Residence council provides an opportunity to build skills like:

  • Leadership
  • Advocacy
  • Event management and planning
  • Time management
  • Communication
  • Community development

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
