Life at SAIT
Prashant teaches in the BA and BBA HR streams and has been with SAIT since August 2019.
Prashant's students see him as a passionate educator with an entrepreneurial mindset. He emphasizes debate and critical thinking in his classrooms. Prashant emphasizes a genuine, trust-based relationship with students, poised to last beyond the classroom and program. Prashant strongly advocates equity and inclusion and brings a global perspective to classroom discussions.
Education
Prashant has a BBA and MBA in General Management, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Diploma in Hospitality Administration and Management. He is currently pursuing a DBA (Specializations in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources) from Athabasca University.
Prashant is also certified with the Human Resources Institute of Alberta as a CPHR, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) USA. He is an Associate Member of the Association of Change Management Professionals. He is a trained professional in performance culture, situational leadership, and diversity and inclusion.
Professional accomplishments
Prashant’s dedication to the HR industry has been recognized through several awards. Walmart recognized him for supporting new immigrant employment in Canada. He also received a Certificate of Recognition from Walmart for successfully leading and coordinating the Fort McMurray Walmart relief and transition efforts during the 2016 fires. During his hospitality and tourism days, ACCOR Europe nominated him for the Service Excellence and Leadership in Operations award.
Prashant founded the Calgary South Asian LGBTQ+ meetup group that offers mentorship and support to LGBTQ+ immigrants from South Asia.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
