Life at SAIT
Jill joined the School of Business in 2024 and teaches first-year and capstone courses. Jill has a steadfast passion for supporting students as they embark on their academic journey and preparing them for a successful transition into their professional careers. She is deeply committed to equipping students not only with technical skills but also with the adaptability and resilience needed to navigate a complex and ever-changing world.
Beyond teaching, Jill is a passionate advocate for meaningful change. Her approach blends real-world insights, systemic awareness, and a strong emphasis on collaboration. She enjoys exploring Calgary’s natural and cultural offerings, whether it’s cross-country skiing, kayaking, running, or attending local music festivals.
Education
Jill holds an MBA from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor’s in Psychology and French from the University of Manitoba, and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Social Sciences at Royal Roads University, with expected completion in late 2025. Her academic journey reflects her dedication to understanding and addressing complex societal challenges through interdisciplinary and applied research.
Professional Accomplishments
Jill is a recognized leader in social innovation, strategy, and education. She has worked with organizations across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to co-create strategies that address critical issues such as affordable housing, mental health, reconciliation, and access to cancer care. As the Founder of Creating Value, Jill has facilitated processes that empower social purpose leaders to drive impactful change.
Previously, she served as Executive Director of the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council, where she worked with Indigenous Elders, business leaders, and community organizations to address reconciliation and social purpose initiatives. Jill was also the founding Director of the Trico Changemakers Studio at Mount Royal University, creating a vibrant hub for social innovation and collaboration.
Jill’s expertise in systems change, facilitation, and coaching has earned her recognition as a thought leader and educator, mentoring change-makers from around the world. Her achievements are underpinned by a deep commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive progress in society.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
