Life at SAIT
Bill has been at SAIT for ten years and is a BA and BBA Financial Services instructor.
He serves as an honorary member and mentor for the Student Investment Management Trust (SIMT) at SAIT, which won the 2021 Student Leadership Award.
Much of his attitude towards life and the classroom is dictated by what he labels “Bill’s 10 Rules for Success”, a document widely popular amongst his students and colleagues. He encourages teamwork, a positive attitude, responsibility, critical thinking, dreaming big, and keeping things light as core tenets to a quality educational experience and career.
Education
Bill has a BHSc. in Health Care Administration and an MBA in Educational Leadership. Bill is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and has also written the Life Licence Qualification Program (LLPQ) exam.
Professional accomplishments
Bill authored the book Small Cap Millionaire.
Before teaching, Bill spent 18 years in the financial services industry as an Investment Manager and Wealth Specialist at CIBC and Integral Wealth and Bershire Securities. He is also a former CEO of Life Sciences Venture Corp.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
