Life at SAIT 

Ami joined the School of Business in 2023. She teaches Human Resources and Management courses in the Diploma and Degree programs. Ami's passion for teaching and learning, coupled with her commitment to reflective practices and creativity, enables her to build meaningful relationships with students. She strives to provide learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, fostering both personal and professional growth for her students.

Outside work, Ami has volunteered with the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) in Ontario, serving on the Mentoring Committee for one year. A passionate advocate of holistic health and wellness, Ami enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, and meditation.

Education 

Ami holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Specialization), a Master of Social Work, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India. She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM – SCP).

Professional Accomplishments 

Ami brings 11 years of global HR experience across diverse industries, including manufacturing, engineering, IT, and retail. She has served as a subject matter expert in critical HR functions and has provided strategic support to organizations, helping them develop effective employee-focused strategies. Her contributions have been instrumental in organizations achieving certifications such as CMMI Level 5 and National HR Excellence Awards. 

In her time as an industry professional, Ami provided strategic insights and support to help organizations design and implement effective, employee-centric strategies.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
