SAIT is proud to recognize and celebrate transformational community impact, partnership and student leadership through the President's Awards: the President's Medal and the President's Student Leadership Award.

We're excited to introduce you to the 2025 SAIT President's Awards recipients.

2025 President's Medal

Business Administration '25, School of Business

Loretta Amos is a first-generation immigrant from Ghana, West Africa, who moved to Canada to pursue education and a better life. Facing challenges in her initial college choice, she transferred to SAIT, where she worked full-time while taking evening classes. Despite the exhausting schedule, Loretta was determined to succeed, believing her hard work would empower her future and inspire other women to pursue their passions. She has found a sense of community at SAIT and has dedicated significant time to volunteering and ensuring others feel supported. As Amos looks to the future, she hopes her journey inspires others to step forward, find their voice and create the change they wish to see.

2025 President's Medal

Advanced Care Paramedic '25, School of Health and Public Safety

A 2025 Advanced Care Paramedic graduate, Ryan Ng transitioned from chemistry to paramedicine to pursue a purposeful career. His passion for service grew through SAIT’s programs and various student advocate roles while studying at SAIT, which includes serving as a two-term Saitsa Board Director. He co-founded the SAIT Lifeline Club, raising awareness about blood, plasma, and stem cell donations. Ng also served on SAIT's Academic Council and as a Trustee at Campus Trust, overseeing student health plans. He’s excelled at SAIT while balancing academics, volunteering, mentoring new students, and working part-time as a paramedic at Siksika Nation. Ng plans to further his education while continuing to work as a paramedic, combining hands-on service with broader community impact.

Construction Project Management Students' Association
2025 President's Student Leadership Award

The Construction Project Management Student’s Association (CPMSA) has actively worked to foster connections among students, alumni and industry, to build a lasting sense of community. Under the outgoing executive team, CPMSA expanded from one annual event to nearly 20 initiatives, including networking, mentorship and industry engagement and the first annual alumni reunion for graduates of the Bachelor of Science Construction Project Management program. As the CPMSA looks forward, the incoming leadership team plans to build on their success by refining processes, gathering student and industry feedback to ensure momentum continues for the next generation of construction leaders.

🚨 Nominations for President's Awards and Spring 2025 valedictorians are now closed.

 Click on the award category below to view information about the award, including criteria and nomination status.

Convocation is one of the most important times for SAIT students. They have worked hard to achieve their credential and look forward to the official ceremony that marks this truly special day. Every spring, fall and winter (NEW) convocation includes a valedictorian address at each of the ceremonies.

We're currently looking for four (4) valedictorians for the 2025 Spring Convocation ceremonies.

Valedictorians are chosen based on the following:

  • Must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Must be eligible to graduate
  • Must have strong public speaking ability (recipients will deliver a speech at one of the convocation ceremonies)
  • Have leadership traits and contribute to the SAIT community

❗️ Self-nominations will not be accepted.

The President's Medal is an individual award and celebrates outstanding student achievement. The recipient of the President's Medal will have made significant contributions to campus life, demonstrated leadership with industry and achieved excellence in their field of study.

Submissions for this award could include examples of the following:

  • Collaboration and connection with industry
  • Projects to improve campus life for students
  • Projects, activities or volunteer efforts that strengthen SAIT's reputation in the community

This award is open only to graduating students in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or greater.

❗️ Self-nominations will be accepted but require a letter of support from their Academic Chair or Dean.

The President's Student Leadership Award recognizes a student group or club that has demonstrated innovation and initiative in creating opportunities for SAIT, fellow students, industry and the community.

Submissions for this award could include examples of the following:

  • Meaningful collaboration and/or connection with industry
  • Projects to improve campus life for students
  • Projects, activities or volunteer efforts that strengthen SAIT's reputation in the community

Nominations by a group or club member will be accepted.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
