Everything you need to know this semester at SAIT

A student lies on the ground surrounded by golden leaves. They are wearing a shirt that says "SAIT, Baking and Pastry Arts" with a book covering their face. Their hand is making a peace sign.

Whether you’re in your first semester or returning to SAIT after a break, here’s our round-up of info and student resources for you

Welcome or welcome back to SAIT!

With the fall semester kicking off this week, here are a few things you need to know about the next few months.

Three SAIT employees stand behind a wooden booth that says "SAIT." Behind them, there is a blue sign that reads "Welcome Centre." Another sign in the background repeats "Welcome Centre." There are potted plants on either side of the group.

Stay alert around construction

If you’ve been at our main campus, you’ve probably noticed we have some construction taking place between the CTrain station and Heritage Hall. That’s the site of our new Taylor Family Campus Centre, scheduled to open in late 2027.

🚧 Safety reminder

Please be patient, stay alert and stay safe around construction:

🛑 STOP: Pay attention. Avoid distractions, including your phone.

⚠️ WAIT: Follow directions from traffic flaggers for everyone’s safety.

✅ GO: Use only designated crossings and detours when clear.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
