I am a provisional psychologist with my master’s in counselling psychology from the University of Calgary. I grew up in rural Alberta and completed my undergraduate degree at a small liberal arts college. I found that counselling while at school was significant for my development, and I love getting to provide the same for others. Schooling can represent a kind of transitory period, much is in flux in your life, and I find there is often so much potential for exploration, change, and developing as a person.

I see counselling as an opportunity to have a space and a relationship set aside specifically for the purposes of working on yourself. Yes, it will be work. It may challenge you in all kinds of new ways. However, this space is yours to experiment with, to bring the concerns and goals that you will find meaningful to work on now.

I am particularly drawn to exploring questions related to meaning making, identity, and purpose. I enjoy working with clients experiencing concerns around life transitions, relationships, grief, global issues (e.g., ecoanxiety), and more. I find that counselling gives us a chance to compassionately revisit parts of ourselves that may have long gone untended. In doing so, we can clarify our values, uncover our ‘default’ assumptions/reactions, and direct our lives in more intentional and fulfilling ways.

Outside of work, I love reading (lots of sci-fi and fantasy), playing DnD with friends, yoga, and getting out in nature for skiing/walking.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
