An accountant and educator whose career has taken him from the biggest city in Nigeria to Calgary, Abidemi Akinloye brings a wealth of experience to the School of Business classrooms at SAIT — and beyond.
Over his career, Akinloye has been an auditor, accountant and instructor, working for organizations from H&R Block to Cenovus Energy. A teacher in Lagos Nigeria, he joined SAIT in 2015 — three years after taking updated certified general accountant courses at the school — instructing students in the diploma, applied and bachelor’s degree programs.
Beyond the classroom, Akinloye takes SAIT students to do volunteer work with non-governmental organizations around the world, helping with their business, finance and accounting needs — giving students practical skills while becoming global citizens.
Currently working on his doctorate in business from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Akinloye is building off his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maiduguri, as well as his professional designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
