Aba washded, my name is Brittany Sydora. I am a proud member of the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation in Treaty 6 territory. I have been working in post-secondary for nearly 10 years, and I have a passion for helping Indigenous students reach their goals and excel in post-secondary.
I have been an Indigenous Student Advisor at SAIT since November 2024, and I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Concordia University of Edmonton. In my role as Indigenous Student Advisor, I help guide students from the time they are accepted to the time they graduate, accessing all the resources available to them. I can’t wait to work with you!
Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.
SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
