Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response - Instructors
Join SAIT's Sexual Violence Program Coordinator and Educator to learn more about understanding and recognizing sexual and gender-based violence and how to offer support to those who have been impacted.
The session will also identify how individuals can access support at SAIT and how they can offer help to others in a compassionate and survivor-centered way, as well as introduce the 5D's of Bystander Intervention and other gender-based violence prevention strategies.
This workshop will cover the key content covered across the regularly offered training programs in a single session and is recommended for instructors looking to build skills in this area while students are on break for reading week.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
