Grant Van Shaik provides strategic leadership to advance SAIT’s institutional priorities and support long term planning and decision making across the organization. In his role as Associate Vice President, Strategy and Institutional Development, Grant leads institutional level functions responsible for advancing strategic planning, enrolment strategy, and institutional analytics. His work supports the Executive team and Board through environmental scanning, strategic analysis, and the integration of internal and external insight that informs SAIT’s strategic direction.
Grant brings broad experience across post secondary education and the private sector, with leadership roles spanning corporate strategy, planning, operations, and executive management. He is recognized for building strong cross institutional relationships and for translating complex analysis into actionable insight that supports institutional performance and innovation. Grant holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
