Reminder - COVID-19 vaccine mandate

Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, members of the SAIT community will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. On that date, rapid testing will no longer be accepted as an alternative to full vaccination, except as part of a previously-approved accommodation. Upload your vaccine verification through the SAITALERT app. Students who do not upload their vaccine verification through the app risk being un-enrolled from their in-person classes.

💻 Review Vaccination verification and familiarize yourself with SAIT's Mandatory Vaccination Protocol.

National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

It’s been more than 30 years since the murder of 14 young women by an anti-feminist gunman at Montreal’s École Polytechnique. The shooting led the Canadian Parliament to declare Dec. 6 as a National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. It’s also known as White Ribbon Day.
Anybody can be abused, no matter their background, identity or circumstance. But women, girls and gender-diverse people are at a higher risk of gender-based violence.
One in three women will face gender-based violence in their lifetime. Last year, 160 women and girls were killed by violence in Canada. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, violence against women and girls has intensified in countries around the world.
What can you do? Learn about gender-based violence. Spread the word on support services/resources. Know who to call if someone is in danger.
If you’re concerned for your safety or for the safety of someone else, call 911 or Campus Security at 403.284.8000. If you’re in crisis, make the call, you’re not alone. Reach out to Student Development and Counselling. Access sexual assault and violence supports. Connect with after-hours community resources.
