SAIT’s annual faculty showcase is evolving. We invite SAIT faculty, staff, leaders, and colleagues from other local institutions to join us to explore this year’s theme of excellence in teaching and learning in applied education.

This conference-style event will include presentations, workshops and experiential tours to showcase the excellence of the SAIT community and our collective commitment to student success.

What you can expect

There are several different session formats for you to choose from, covering topics from artificial intelligence and curriculum design to professional development, student engagement, and teaching philosophy and approaches.

💡 Idea Sparks

There's a storm coming - a brainstorm! Help your colleagues flesh out their ideas or projects to set them on the road to success.

These 90-minute sessions include multiple rounds of discussion with small groups. You may just find new mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities or take away some great ideas for your own work!

💁‍♀️ Show and Share

Enjoy one of your favourite things from elementary school - show and tell! Find out what your peers have been working on and learn something new.

These sessions can be pre-recorded or live.

👐 Workshops

Get hands-on in a workshop. These 75-minute sessions will have you exploring teaching and learning approaches, tools and programs, or other initiatives.

🎙️ Presentations

A classic. Settle in and hear from your colleagues across Alberta about promising practices they've tried in the classroom, resources they've created to support students or results from a recent study or scholarly work.

Many of our presentation sessions complement each other, so make sure you stick around for the full 90 minutes!

👀 Experiential tours

We have so many cool spaces at SAIT. Get a behind the scenes look at the amazing labs, kitchens and classrooms on campus, led by the instructors and subject matter experts that utilize them day-to-day.

Oki, Âba wathtech, Danit'ada, Tawnshi, Hello.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
