Description: The European Innovation Academy (EIA) program is a leading entrepreneurship summer program. During this intensive three-week interdisciplinary program students from around the world are challenged to create a startup from scratch. After forming multidisciplinary international teams, you will design and launch a product and market strategy with the support of leading industry mentors. Participants will have top-notch professionals as mentors and keynote sessions with speakers from the world’s most renowned companies and institutions.

Description: The course will provide hands-on opportunities for students to get involved with a special project designed by Kirkland Community College. Students from Australia, Singapore, Canada and the United States will be organized into multicultural teams to study the process of Design Thinking, and learn how to apply these concepts to a real-life setting. The team will partner with Cedar Rapids Downtown District to focus on enhancing the city's services for international visitors. Cultural excursions in Iowa and Chicago, Illinois are included.

Description: Feel the energy while studying at Kirkwood Community College in dynamic Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. Home to over 300 manufacturing plants and two dozen Fortune 500 companies — like Rockwell Collins, General Mills and Quaker Oats — Cedar Rapids is also known for its world-class dining, shopping, art and culture scenes. 

Service learning study abroad

Give back through serving local communities across the globe while gaining invaluable experience. Service learning programs can be more physically demanding than other programs, but they can also be more rewarding. Combining education with community service, you'll volunteer or work on a civic engagement project and then reflect on your experience in the classroom. 

Destination: Chiang Mai & Bangkok, Thailand

Travel dates: June 20 - July 4, 2020

Description: Travel to Thailand to work on a community-focused project while you make lifelong connections from around the globe, and experience the rich culture and natural beauty of Thailand. 

Semester exchange study abroad

Want to travel for a while longer? Choose to take pre-determined courses through one of our partner institutions over a full-semester term. Courses align with your SAIT program and, upon successful completion, you’ll gain academic credit towards your program.

Description: Complete one semester of your program at Holmesglen Institute located in Melbourne, Australia. You'll receive credit towards your SAIT degree and pay only SAIT tuition, no international tuition fees.

Description: Complete part of your SAIT program internationally — spend a full semester at the Box Hill Institute in Melbourne, Australia. Participants won’t need to retake classes upon return. Live and study alongside other Box Hill students, experience your curriculum from a new perspective, meet new people and sample true Aussie culture. 

International workplace experiential learning

Travel and work outside of Canada on a work placement to complete your SAIT program practicum requirements. You can identify your placement provider or leverage existing SAIT networks identified through your program practicum coordinator.
