Short-term study abroad
These programs typically range between 1-8 weeks in duration. Depending on your study abroad program, you may participate in tours and cultural experiences, various classes relevant to your SAIT program at partner institutes, service learning volunteer opportunities, and more!
- The Global Education Network (GEN) is a partnership of four institutions that work together to facilitate the exchange of staff and students to provide an innovative learning experience, enhance intercultural knowledge and develop intercultural competencies.:

- SAIT also works closely with Global Learning Programs in Costa Rica to provide short-term group study tours relating to various SAIT programs of study.

Are you ready to take your Health Care Innovative Idea forward? Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey that combines cutting-edge innovation with cultural immersion in Europe?
At EIA, you'll dive headfirst into a dynamic three-week program, running from July 11 to August 4, 2024, designed to ignite your entrepreneurial spirit and foster creative problem-solving skills. Imagine spending your summer surrounded by like-minded peers and industry experts from around the globe, all driven by a shared passion for innovation.
Destination: Porto, Portugal
Travel dates: July 11 - August 4, 2024.
Cost: Approximately $6,000* (includes EIA program, flights, accommodation, and insurance. Does not include meals/personal spending).
Eligible students may qualify for Global Skills Opportunity funding from the Government of Canada. Target group students are students who identify as at least one of the following:
- Low-income student
- Student with a disability
- Indigenous student

Destination: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
Travel dates: September 8 - 28, 2024 (includes travel)* - for students on a scheduled semester break.
Cost: Approximately $1,500 – $2,000* (includes flights, accommodation, and insurance. Does not include meals/personal spending). Price dependent on room type. Each student selected will receive a GEN bursary of $1200.
Application deadline: Spots will be offered on a first qualified, first accepted basis until Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 11:59 pm MST. Apply early!
Eligible programs: IT, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Business, Construction, Transportation & Healthcare. (For students on a scheduled academic break.)
Description: Feel the energy while studying at Kirkwood Community College in dynamic Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. Home to over 300 manufacturing plants and two dozen Fortune 500 companies — like Rockwell Collins, General Mills and Quaker Oats — Cedar Rapids is also known for its world-class dining, shopping, art and culture scenes.
*Dates may differ by a day due to time zone differences or the availability of air routes. Deadline to apply is June 1 but programs fill on a first qualified, first served basis.
Semester exchange study abroad
Want to travel for a while longer? Choose to take pre-determined courses through one of our partner institutions over a full-semester term.
Courses align with your SAIT program and upon successful completion, you’ll gain academic credit towards your program.
Destination: Switzerland
Semester dates: Winter (Spring) Semester: February to June; Fall (Autumn) Semester: September to February.

Eligible programs: Bachelor of Business Administration
Description: Complete one semester of your program at HSLU in Lucerne, Switzerland. You'll receive credit towards your SAIT degree and pay only SAIT tuition.
