More than just recognition, the honours society offers a platform to grow as a leader, connect with like-minded peers, and make a lasting impact on campus and beyond.

We are launching in September 2025 with a new student executive and will be inviting eligible students in the fall.

Membership eligibility

To be considered for the honours society, you must:

  • Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Be enrolled in a full-time daytime credit program
  • Complete a minimum of three courses at SAIT
  • Be in good standing with no history of academic or non-academic misconduct
  • Pay a one-time membership fee of $75

How to join

  1. Eligible students are identified each semester by the Office of the Registrar.
  2. If you qualify, you’ll receive an email invitation to confirm your enrolment
  3. Complete the online form to confirm your membership
  4. Pay the one time membership fee to activate your membership

You will be invited to join an induction ceremony in June and will be added to the Honours Societies mailing list and Teams channel.

🎓 Already a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Member?

If you're a member of PTK, you’re eligible to join SSHS at no cost. We welcome your continued leadership and commitment to academic excellence. A separate invitation will be sent out in January.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
