Online Testing Services

For online and continuing education courses that require you to complete exams, it is your responsibility to arrange a time and place to write exams and pay for the services of a proctor.

COVID-19 update

With the health and safety of our students and employees top of mind, SAIT is following the Government of Alberta's guidance specific to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please refer to the frequently asked questions at  sait.ca/covid19 for the most up-to-date information about your studies, and for the latest details on SAIT's pandemic preparedness measures.

The SAIT Testing Centre is closed until further notice.  All off-campus proctors are also closed. If you have an online exam, refer to your Brightspace (D2L) course for details and contact your course facilitator to confirm next steps.

Off-campus SAIT pre-approved proctor

Where do you live?

If you live more than 100 kilometres from SAIT's Calgary campus, we recommend you book at one of our off-campus pre-approved proctor centres. A SAIT-approved proctor centre is designed to hold secure examination-writing sessions and can be found at a secondary school, post-secondary institution, or an educational consortium. To assist you in deciding on a proctor, check out our commonly used proctors by our online learning students across Western Canada.

Contact us for more information about pre-approved proctor centres at a location near you or about other proctor options in remote areas.

Technical computer set-up requirements?

The majority of off-campus proctor centres are set up with basic computers and internet as well as MS Office software access. Please double-check their set-up to ensure they have what you need before booking.

Do you need accessibility or exam accommodations?

If you have or think you may have a condition affecting your learning, please contact our Accessibility Services advisors at the start of your course to set-up accommodation requests.

Proctor fees

The fees and payment method will vary depending on which proctor centre you select.

Booking request timelines

Each exam must be booked a minimum of five days before your desired exam-writing session date. Note that booking an exam with a pre-approved proctor is a two-step process requiring you to arrange your exam session with the proctor, as well as fill in an online booking request with us so that we can coordinate exam set-up with the proctor.
