Good health is at the heart of everything, and ensuring people are healthy in crucial - but healthcare goes beyond doctors and nurses. It's a major sector that requires those on the front lines and behind the scenes to work well together to keep people well.

Life Saver Award
Do you know someone - an alumni, staff, faculty or student - who has provided life-saving assistance in an emergency situation anywhere in the world?
Nominate them for the School of Health and Public Safety's Life Saver Award. Nominations can be submitted year-round and recipients are selected and notified by the Dean, School of Health and Public Safety.
Enhanced learning opportunities
Our programs take hands-on learning to a new level by introducing students to work-integrated learning opportunities, both in real clinical and medical spaces but also virtually through the Virtu-Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

I think, as a preceptor, I am passing on something of value to my students. I am passing on knowledge that not all people have. Some days I take my knowledge for granted and teaching new professionals reminds me of the value of the things I have learned from my years of experience. Being a preceptor reminds me to look at things from a different perspective and with fresh eyes.
