Skills to smile about

Dental hygienists play an important role in maintaining oral health. In this program, you’ll learn to assess, diagnose and treat oral conditions. You’ll focus on education and prevention in support of personal health and wellbeing while delivering a high standard of service to both individuals and communities.

This program combines classroom learning with hands-on instruction at SAIT’s Dental Clinic, giving you real-world experience in a live clinical environment. Upon completing this program, you’ll have the knowledge to pursue opportunities as a registered dental hygienist.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
