Course Description

Let us show you that healthy foods do taste good and are easy to incorporate into your meals with the proper planning. In this three-part series we discuss how food reacts in the body, the benefits of eating real food, and how to start making nutritious choices.

In week one we look at how food can help or hurt the body and how the simple act of cooking at home helps us avoid processed food and make wholesome choices. We look at the ingredients in processed foods, discuss nutrient density, and demonstrate a clean recipe for both a dressing and a dip - simple areas where we can control sugar and additives.

Week two demonstrates basic kitchen skills (using knives and handling food safely), discusses kitchen organization for meal preparation, and outlines pantry and fridge essentials. We also show you how to batch cook a one-pot meal to feed your family for a few days.   

The third and final class puts everything together: how and why to meal prep, the therapeutic and anti-inflammatory benefit of certain clean foods, blood sugar balance, and a superfood demonstration of a portable snack.

Each two-hour demonstration and tasting class includes a glass of wine and/or kombucha and a 30-minute question period.
