Autodesk Authorized Training Centre
SAIT is an Autodesk Authorized Training Centre, which offers Autodesk approved courses part-time and online. These courses provide you with the hands-on experience you'll need to enter the workforce. You will work with knowledgeable instructors, official Autodesk training guides, as well as exercises which emphasize real-world practical application.
There are no entrance requirements for this program and specific job experience is not necessary. Previous experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software is recommended.
Revit Architecture Fundamentals will teach you the basics of Revit Architecture software such as building a 3D model with walls, windows, doors, floors, roofs, stairs, creating reflected ceiling plans and furniture plans. Then you will learn to use drawing tools, editing elements, and levels and grids to enhance your 3D model getting it ready for real-world application. This course concludes with adding views and annotation to drawing sheets to create a set of construction documents.
After completion of Revit Architecture Fundamentals, you will advance to Revit Intermediate. In this course, you will learn additional collaboration tools and BIM management strategies such as project phasing, display options, importing and exporting, work-sets and advanced design development tools. You will also become familiar with construction document tools including material takeoff schedules, keynotes and legends.
The final course, Revit Advanced, will focus on conceptual design using the software's site design and structural design tools. You will also learn about space planning, massing, visualization and rendering. These techniques will empower you to progress from massing studies to creating a commercial building project by applying your knowledge of area analysis, walkthrough, solar studies and more.
Students are required to purchase the mandatory course materials at the SAIT Bookstore (approximate cost is $140).
Part-time online and evening deliveries are also available.
