Through SAIT’s Financial Services Certificate of Achievement program, we can help you step into this rewarding career path.

The financial industry is dynamic and fast-paced. Our highly qualified instructors have vast experience in the financial services industry. They prepare you with the necessary knowledge to be successful and productive in the workplace.

Our finance courses will set the stage for a successful career in any aspect of this sector whether it be banking, insurance, investing, treasury branches, credit unions or more. Our curriculum covers sales training, business math, customer service, financial accounting and financial planning. After graduating from SAIT’s financial services certificate program, you will be qualified to work in an entry-level position within the financial services industry.

Courses are available through part-time studies (evenings, weekends and online). This is a bring your own device program with a  standard hardware and software requirement. See the specific requirements on our  computers and laptops page

You have up to five years to complete all eight certificate courses. You must meet the graduation requirements as they exist at the time you register for your first course (see  AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression).

All certificate courses, except for BFIN 301, can ladder into the Business Administration diploma (Financial Services major), available through full-time or part-time studies. You must meet the admission requirements for the diploma. You have a maximum of seven years to complete all 20 diploma courses, including time spent on the certificate of achievement.

Tuition and fees*

The following costs are based on a single 3.0 credit course. Additional fees may be added depending on the delivery of a course and the number of courses taken at a time.

English Proficiency is an institutional requirement at SAIT. It is a student’s responsibility to ensure that they have the necessary pre-requisites for the courses they want to enroll in. 

  • Minimum of 50% in the following courses or their equivalents: 
  • English Language Arts 10-1 or 10-2, or successful completion of an English placement test. 

How to apply  

Step 1: Ensure that you meet all the admission requirements listed above and you meet the prerequisites for courses. If you do not meet these admission requirements, contact your Academic Chair. 

Step 2: Apply to Open Studies and submit your transcripts and/or anticipated final grades.  

Step 3: Find out how to monitor your application status after you apply.  

Once you have been admitted to Open Studies, you’ll register for your next course by logging into mySAIT.ca and going to myStudent > Search and Register for Classes > Register for Courses.
