Campus Tours

Interested in coming to SAIT? Discover our main campus — explore our state-of-the-art labs and learning spaces. We're proud of our campus and would love to show you around.

We offer tours by area of interest, tours for groups and for anyone interested in SAIT Residence and our other campuses.

Campus tour update

With the health and safety of our attendees, students and employees top of mind, SAIT is following the Government of Alberta’s guidance specific to the COVID-19 pandemic. SAIT is cancelling all public events until further notice, including campus tours.

Tours by area of interest

To ensure you'll see exactly what you want we offer tours by area of interest in January and March. These tours will give you an in-depth look at the classrooms, labs and learning environment associated with programs, and each tour incorporates information and tour stops around the entire SAIT campus.

Join one of our many tours, explore our beautiful urban campus and become familiar with the services we offer to students.

Business, Accounting and Management

Gain an insightful look into our business programs from a student's perspective. This tour is led by current business students and includes an in-depth look at the Advising Centre, the idea room classroom and some of the workspaces that are utilized in our business programs.

Engineering Technologies

With this tour, you will explore our robotics lab, where our Mechanical Engineering students learn about automation design, control systems and robotics. Next, you'll tour the Founding Builders lab — one of our newest facilities at SAIT, used by the Civil Engineering and Architectural Technologies students. You will also visit the flow lab, one of nine labs used by students in the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program.

The last stop will be at the drilling simulator lab where Petroleum Engineering Technology students (and corporate clients) can practice actual scenarios without real-world consequences.

Health and Medical

With this tour, you'll gain insight into our Health and Medical labs, and our state-of-the-art facilities. You'll also get an inside look into patient stimulations education where students learn through hands-on training that prepares them for a rewarding career in health care.

Information Technologies

Become familiar with our tech-enriched learning spaces for information technologies programs. On this tour you will see and learn more about:

  • the Cisco Networking room, where the Information Technology (IT)  networking students learn to route and switch network systems, computer hardware and operating system lab
  • our telecommunications labs where IT students learn about copper and fibre-optic network systems and the process of transmission of digital signals
  • server and networking labs where students from the Broadcast Systems Technology program learn to install, troubleshoot and repair broadcast equipment.

Media and Communications

Go behind the scenes in the world of media and communications. On this tour, you'll see our innovative printing, production and design facilities, multi-camera newsroom and radio station and broadcast systems technology lab.

  • our multi-camera newsroom and radio station where our Radio, Television & Broadcast News students produce and broadcast on-air segments.


Become familiar with our state-of-the-art learning spaces and discover our applied learning environments. On this tour you will see:

  • our pipe trades labs where are plumbing students learn about plumbing, pipe fabrication, blueprint reading and safety
  • our carpentry lab where students learn to construct, erect and repair structures made of wood
  • the Gene Haas Foundation Labs were Machinists set up and operate precision equipment
  • our automotive bays where Automotive Service Technology students and apprentices work on training vehicles
  • the larger heavy and industrial training equipment for our Diesel Equipment Technician, Heavy Equipment programs
  • our state-of-the-art Welding labs.

Group tours

Experience SAIT in the best way possible by visiting our beautiful urban campus. Bring your group to explore, while getting an in-depth look at the classrooms, labs and learning environments. You'll also discover our many student services and onsite amenities. Please provide a minimum of two week's notice for group tours.
