Documentary Review: CBC Gem Black Life: Untold Stories, Episode 6 – More Than Just a Game

We’ll watch the documentary together and then take part in a thoughtful discussion led by members of the BEES, exploring the role sports have played in Black history, identity, and resistance.

The documentary is available for free on CBC Gem with a sign-up. If you’re unable to attend the 11:30 am viewing, please watch the documentary ahead of time so you can participate fully in the discussion from 12:15 pm - 1 pm.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
