Our donors step up every year to provide critical support to our students and change their lives for the better. Funds raised through SAIT's Annual Giving program go directly to institutional priorities such as:

SAIT has a long and proud tradition of providing scholarships to students to recognize academic achievement and to reduce obstacles to student success. Over $5 million in student awards are given to students each year.
Investments made by individual alumni and friends, associations, businesses, foundations, and other organizations have helped countless students who otherwise may not have been able to attend SAIT. Our student awards are funded on an annual basis as well as from professionally managed endowments.

Have a direct impact on the incredible work our students are doing by supporting one of our student-led crowdfunding campaigns. Our Raise it Red crowdfunding campaign features current student projects that are looking for your support.
Student fundraising activities range from capstone projects, study abroad opportunities, conference or competition participation or student club activities that have an academic impact. Some of the past crowdfunding projects include the Great Northern Concrete Toboggan team, the ISA International Student Games, Enactus Student Club National Competition and the SAE Baja Buggy team.
Your contributions to crowdfunding campaigns go towards costs not covered by traditional funding sources and often provide opportunities for students that they would not otherwise be able to afford. Your support continues to help connect people to projects and unleashes innovation.

The Memorial Giving program was established to accept financial contributions in memory of loved ones. Leaving a gift to SAIT in honour of a loved one is a way of remembering a special person in your life while supporting the next generation.

Thanks to the partnership between SAIT and the Ruperstland Institute, on behalf of the Métis Education Foundation, we have the opportunity to bring the dream of a $1 million endowment to reality.
Ruperstland Institute, on behalf of the Métis Education Foundation, has committed to provide $2 for every $1 donated to SAIT's Métis Education Foundation Endowment Fund, up to $500,000. The Métis Education Foundation Endowment Fund was created to provide Métis Scholar Awards on an annual basis.
The Métis Scholar Awards are a significant milestone for Métis student success, removing financial obstacles and improving the quality of life for students and their families. The SAIT Opportunities Fund helps SAIT students every day by supporting programs and projects not covered by tuition or government. SAIT dedicates this fund to the enhancement of education and student life.
Examples include — pilot projects that bring new technology to the classroom, peer support programs, academic clubs, and societies and other student activities. Your gift to the SAIT Opportunities Fund is the most important gift of all because it enables SAIT to use the funds where they are needed most when they are needed most.

Student success is more than what happens in the classroom. It's ensuring our student have access to world-class facilities and technology. It's ensuring that we are supporting their mental health as well as their academic development, and supporting experiential learning opportunities through activities such as student clubs.
Your gift to the Student Success Fund will ensure our students have all the support they need as they embark on their academic journey.

SAIT offers over 100 different camp options for students in grades 1 through 12 that range from television and radio production to baking, welding and sciences.
The SAIT Summer Camps Bursary Endowment allows families facing financial hardship to send their child to a SAIT Sumer Camp.
This unique experience helps kids and youth explore careers and gain new skills through hands-on learning. Your support ensures vulnerable kids and youth have opportunities to discover their passion and potential, and for every $10 raised, an anonymous donor will give $5 — to a maximum of $400,000 — so that we can reach our goal of sending 100 kids to SAIT Summer Camps through the Summer Camps Bursary Endowment.

Student Calling program
As part of the Annual Giving program, students from the Student Calling program call alumni throughout the year to hear about their experiences at SAIT, provide updates on current events and campus development, answer questions and raise financial support for the institute and our students.
What we do
The Student Calling program is made up of a team of Student Development Representatives — SAIT students — who connect SAIT graduates back to their alma mater.

As a Student Development Representative, you are a public voice and an ambassador for SAIT. Develop your communication skills and raise critical funds for SAIT students.
If you're sociable, enthusiastic and able to converse with people from all walks of life, this may be the job for you.
If SAIT has great personal meaning to you, a legacy gift is an extraordinary way to ensure your memory lives on — support SAIT student scholarships, new equipment and many improvements to our campus. You will make a profound difference in the lives of future generations of SAIT students.
Financial gifts to SAIT help us remain current and relevant by providing instructors and students with the latest technology and educational resources. They can provide scholarships, bursaries and emergency assistance to help ensure financial need is not a barrier to graduation.

Yes, SAIT welcomes gifts of publicly listed securities such as mutual funds, shares, and stocks with the assistance of a professional broker.
You can make a gift of shares to SAIT by transferring them electronically and we strongly recommend you consult your financial advisor, securities broker or another financial representative to assist you in making the transfer. To make a gift of shares, please follow the instructions on SAIT's secure transfer form.

Please note: Transferring shares between brokerage firms typicalluy take five business days and price fluctuations can occur. It is SAIT's policy to sell donated securities as soon as possible. Your gift will be valued at the closing price on the day the security is received in our account and you will be issued a charitable tax receipt for that value. To ensure a charitable tax receipt for the current year is issued, please initiate your gift before Dec. 15.
Yes, you can advise us on the criteria for the award, whether it's for financial need or academic excellence, but you may not designate a gift for a particular student. If you decide to designate a gift please email Brett.Windle@sait.ca or call 403.284.8908.
We take our fiscal responsibilities seriously, and are proud of our track record in managing donor funds. In SAIT’s 2019/20 fiscal year we expect to raise $13.5 million at a cost of $1.9 million. This translates into a cost of $0.14 for every dollar we raise.
In 2017/18 we invested $2.24 million in fundraising activities and raised $16.6 million.
