Transactional Fees
In addition to the fee included in tuition, some of the services we offer may have a nominal charge attached. Here are the different services that require a transactional fee.
Online domestic application | $120 |
A non-refundable fee is required for you to submit an application to SAIT. This fee is the cost for us to process an application and does not guarantee a spot in our programs. Review apply for full details. |

Manual paper application | $175 |

Transfer Credit evaluation | $155 per course (to a maximum $620 per program) |
This fee covers the cost for us to evaluate whether you can receive transfer credit for your previous post-secondary education.
This fee is only applied for evaluations of post-secondary education for the purpose of receiving transfer credit. The cost of evaluating education for admission purposes is included in the cost of your application to SAIT. Review transfer in and select the Transfer Credits tab for details. |

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) | $155 per course (to a maximum $620 per program) |
This fee covers the cost associated with receiving credit for non-traditional learning you have completed.

Challenge Exam | Determined by academic department responsible for course. |
A challenge exam can be attempted if you have past experience or completed a previous course, but no documentation to verify are available. The decision to create a challenge exam and the corresponding cost is at the discretion of the SAIT school or academic department delivering the course. eCard replacement | $25 |
Damaged, lost or stolen eCards can be replaced by contacting the Card Office. Review SAIT eCard for full policies and procedures. |

Admission exam | $50 |
Applicants who don't meet a specific requirement for their chosen program can write an admission exam for the missing course. Review testing services and select the prospective student tab for full details. |

External exam | $100 |
Non-SAIT students can arrange to write an exam through our Testing Centre. Speak with your home institution to determine if they have any fees you need to pay them. Review external exams found in testing services for details. |

Health and Public Safety Program Entrance Exam |
Program Specific Assessment - $20 |
Applicants to many of our medical programs must successfully complete two entrance exams to be considered for admission. Review our School of Health and Public Safety testing process for full details including the program requiring these exams for admission |

Intent to return fee | $125 |
Students who wish to return to a previous program after an unscheduled break lasting one semester or longer must complete an intent to return form within 90 days of the start of classes. Review AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression for full details. |

Program Transfer | $125 |
If you wish to transfer to a different program, you'll need to complete a program transfer form. The form must be signed by the academic chairs of your current program and the program you wish to transfer to. Review AC.1.5.1 Admission Procedure for full details. |

Replacement Credential | $80 |
If your SAIT credential is lost, damaged or destroyed, you can request a replacement. Complete a credential request form and submit a support ticket with a scanned copy attached. Your digital credential will also be uploaded to MyCreds where you can securely share it with anyone you need. Review AC.2.17.1 Credentials for full details. |

Original Credential (program completed before 1995 only) | $130 |
If you completed a SAIT program prior to 1995 and have never received a credential, you will need to complete a credential request form. Fill out the form and submit a support ticket with a scanned copy attached. Your digital credential will also be uploaded to MyCreds where you can securely share it with anyone you need. Formal Grade Appeal | $105 |
If you failed a course within 5% of a passing grade, you can request to complete a supplemental exam or a special assignment through a remedy of deficiency form. If successful, an 'F' grade will be adjusted to a 'D' and a 'NP' will be adjusted to a 'P'. Review AC.3.2.1 Course Deficiencies for full details. |

You can change you major without reapplying to your program. You will have to meet with your academic chair and the chair of the major to which you wish to transfer (if different). Review AC.1.5.1 Admission Procedure for more details. |

Confirmation of Enrolment | Free to request, $10 to share (payable through MyCreds) |
You can request a letter confirming your enrolment as soon as you register in your courses. You will need to request the letter through mySAIT and we will upload it to MyCreds. You'll receive an email with your next steps within five business days after you submit your request. Review student letters for instructions. |

Letter of Completion | Free to request, $10 to share (payable through MyCreds) |
A letter of completion can be used to prove you've completed your program before you receive your credential. This will be created automatically for eligible grads and uploaded to MyCreds. Review student letters for full details |

Official Transcript | Free to request, $20 to share (payable through MyCreds) |
Proof of your SAIT education will be updated on your official transcript. You can request a copy through mySAIT after your most recent course grades appear online. Review order transcripts for instructions. |

Program Reinstatement | $80 |
This fee is charged to any student who wishes to be reinstated to their courses after being canceled for non-pay. Review registration and schedule for details. |

Convocation | $105 |
This fee covers the costs associated for you to attend a SAIT Convocation Ceremony. This includes your gown rental, hat and tassel (which you keep as a souvenir) and tickets for your guests to attend the ceremony. Review graduation for details. |
*You may have to pay fees for materials required for your program. These costs may be over and above your tuition, mandatory fees, books and materials. Check with your advisor or program coordinator to discuss any program-specific fees you should be aware of.
