Let’s get global
How many players on a cricket team? Who lives in Oceania? Where can you study abroad as a SAIT student? Find out during International Education Week (IEW) Nov. 13 - 16.
"Taking part in International Education Week supports student success by helping us build a global community on campus," says Tom Bornhorst, Associate Vice President, Learner and Academic Services.
"This is a great forum for everyone at SAIT to share an intercultural experience and for our students, in particular, as they prepare for an increasingly globalized workplace. It's also a great opportunity to get a little travel advice and have some fun."
More than 100 countries celebrate IEW each year to encourage discussion and engagement within the international community.
"We look forward to International Education Week each year," says Kaitlyn Bowman, International Student Engagement Advisor. "There are almost 1,700 international students on campus from about 100 countries, adding to SAIT's already diverse community.
"IEW is a chance for everyone to connect - we're excited to continue the conversation about international education at SAIT."
Kick off IEW with Global Expo on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 11 am to 2 pm in the Irene Lewis Atrium. Then prepare for take-off:
- get pro tips on highlighting your international experience on your resumé
- share stories and cultural perspectives with fellow students, alumni, faculty and staff
- there's also travel trivia (with prizes!), karaoke, yoga, a global food menu at The Gateway and lots more.
Wrap things up with the Study Abroad Reception on Friday, Nov. 16 and get inspired by some of SAIT's globetrotters. Check out all the events and register.
