Three SAIT competitors bring home hardware at National Skills

SAIT competitors captured three medals — gold and two bronze — at the 21st Skills Canada National Competition held May 27-30 in Saskatoon.

More than 500 high school and post-secondary competitors from across Canada vied for honours in approximately 40 skilled-trade and technology categories.

Tenzin Blair earned first place in the Electrical Installations category, while Garrett Walsh and Ian Cook snagged third place in Autobody Repair and Sheet Metal Worker respectively.

"Congratulations to all the competitors and their coaches for all their effort and hard work!" says Nino Belvedere, SAIT Apprenticeship/Skills Coordinator.

Eleven SAIT students competed at the event - each earning their spot on Team Alberta by winning their classes at the Skills Canada Alberta Competition in mid-May.
