SAIT selects new Vice President, Academic
Calgary, AB — SAIT is pleased to announce Brad Donaldson is the new Vice President, Academic.
Donaldson brings a wealth of knowledge and post-secondary experience to the role, having previously spent time as the Dean of the School of Manufacturing and Automation at SAIT, and most recently as the Vice President Academic at Red Deer College. In addition, Donaldson has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the manufacturing sector.
"The selection committee recognized Donaldson's collaborative leadership style and how it has evolved through his career," says Dr. David Ross, President and CEO of SAIT. "His perspective on leveraging SAIT's ability to effectively deliver applied education both domestically and abroad will be a huge asset as we continue to train the future workforce."
Donaldson was selected after a comprehensive search process that saw many candidates from Canada and abroad vying for the position.
A champion of lifelong learning, Donaldson has a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master's degree, both specializing in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is currently completing a Doctor of Education in Post-Secondary Leadership at the University of Calgary.
Donaldson is active in the community and plays a role in several provincial committees, including the Alberta Senior Academic Officers and the Alberta Association in Higher Education for Information Technology. He is married with two daughters.
Donaldson begins his position at SAIT in March 2015.
