The LRT/CTrain (Calgary Public Transit) is located a skip, hop and a jump away from SAIT Residence, and will give you access to Kensington, Downtown, the Calgary Tower and the Stampede Grounds.
Campus is in a central location so you can visit all of Calgary's highlights and boasts some of the best views in the city.
We are also a short distance from the Calgary International Airport — only 17km driving.
There are a number of nearby grocery stores, restaurants, cinemas and shopping centres that are easily accessible either by car or via city transit.
You will only sign an agreement for your bedroom and the common area. This means you are only financially responsible for your rent, unlike renting in the community. You are not liable for the rent of the other apartment residents.
We offer all-inclusive utilities which include electricity, water and heat.
Our staff is dedicated to serving your needs and arranging both social and educational activities to help you meet other residents, as you transition into this new stage in your life so you can enjoy your higher education experience.
Our customer service desk is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day and located in the Begin Tower residence building.
There are several items available to you at the Begin Tower front desk:
- vacuums
- brooms
- plungers
- games room equipment
Mail is delivered daily to the Residence Office and can be picked up from your mailbox which is located in the lobby. Each resident is issued a mailbox with a mailbox key upon arrival, please be respectful of your roommates' mail and do not discard items that don't belong to you.
Packages that do not fit into your mailbox will be delivered to the Begin Tower office and the Residence Life team will accept them for you. Packages from Purolator, UPS and Canada Post are accepted, and they will be scanned and an email is sent to you directly, letting you know you've received mail. You will need to provide a piece of ID to the Begin Tower Office when you sign for your package.

We have a number of food services available on campus, you won't go hungry!
At SAIT Residence, our Resident Advisors (RAs) organize a ton of residency programs and activities that are fun, and keep you, the student, in mind. Have fun!
Our laundry rooms are open 24 hours a day and come equipped with smart-card operated washers and dryers and located in the basement of East Hall and Begin Towers.
When you register at mysparkle, you will be able to view which machines are currently available in our laundry room. In the event, a machine is not working properly, or you lose money in the machine, please contact Sparkle Xpress at 1.866.769.0680 or email Sparkle Solutions and they can facilitate a repair call or refund.
SAIT Residence recommends that residents remain in the laundry room while their clothes are in the washer or dryer. SAIT Residence is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings, no matter the cause.
Parking is available for students living in residence and you have the option to use your SAIT eCARD to pay for this service.
On-campus parking is available through the parking office in room V215 in the Campus Centre. There are a limited number of spaces for sale so residents are recommended to make arrangements for the purchase of parking passes early.

Repairs and maintenance
Do you have a dripping tap, burned-out light bulb, clogged drain or a window or door that isn't closing properly?
The SAIT Residence maintenance staff is here to quickly and safely deal with any maintenance issues. Residents are not permitted to make repairs to their rooms or common areas.
If there is an emergency repair that must be fixed immediately (major water leak, loss of heat, etc.), you can call:

Sign in to your SAIT Residence account and submit an online maintenance request.
Important: By submitting the request you are authorizing staff to enter your room to complete the necessary repairs, even if you are not there. It is a good idea to inform your roommates that a request has been entered and to expect maintenance staff to come by.
These requests are reviewed and prioritized daily from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Please beware it make take between one and three days to respond to your request, depending on the urgency of the repair and the volume of requests received.
Health and safety
At SAIT ensuring students' safety is our first priority, and we take safety and security on campus very seriously. The SAIT Residence team works closely with campus security to create a safe and secure living environment so our students can succeed.
SAIT Residence and campus security work together to provide:
- 24/7 emergency response to alarms, accidents and unusual activity
- monitored security cameras
- daily and nightly security patrols
- all items that are found at SAIT Residence is taken to SAIT security for holding
- on-site Residence staff who perform rounds of the Residence buildings at night and deal with any issues that may arise.

Our yoga studio is located in the Begin Tower residence building on the 11th floor. During the school year, we host bi-weekly yoga classes for anyone to join and the classes are held free of charge. Schedules are posted on each floor's bulletin board.
Restorative yoga
Healing Restorative offers students an opportunity to relax and renew in body, mind and spirit. Nourish your soul, clear your mind and restore your body.
Flow yoga
It is a flow practice designed to bring balance, inner strength and energy to the practitioner. This practice balances the body, breath and mind to leave you feeling blissful. Students should be familiar with yoga basic moves and sun salutation.
Our workout room is located in the Begin Tower residence building on the 12th floor and in the basement of the East Hall residence building and is free to use. The rooms are outfitted with treadmills, elliptical trainers and stationary bikes. Water is provided and there are sanitizing wipes for when you finish your workout.
Technology
Internet is provided to residents and the cost is included in your Residence fees.
Residents are not permitted to cut wires, boreholes or make any other changes within the residence. Any unauthorized services or equipment may be removed by Management at the resident's expense without notice or liability. All residents are subject to the Institution's and/or Service Provider's current Internet, cable and telephone enrolment and usage policies.
Residence does not supply televisions or cable in any of the units. Cable can be subscribed to at the cost of the student by contacting SHAW. Alterations of any description to phone connections, cable outlets and electrical installations are not permitted. Installing satellite, aerials or any other device on the exterior of the building is prohibited.
SAIT provides wireless Internet, and residents must supply their own network card and cables for wired service.
To plug into the Internet, you will need a 10/100 network card and a network cable. The exact type of network card will vary depending on the type of computer you have. Network printers are not provided.

Community lounges and study areas
We have a wonderful art studio located in the basement of the East Hall residence building and is available for you to use at your leisure from 8 am - 11 pm. You can use the East Hall building access to enter the studio, and for students in Begin Tower who wish to use the Art studio you can sign out an East Hall access card from the front desk.
We have many common areas within our buildings that make great study spaces for individual or group activities.
