Richard Stroobant is a member of the teaching faculty at SAIT. He currently instructs a variety of courses with a main focus on audio production as part of the Radio, Television and Broadcast News program.
Stroobant has been nominated by his students on a number of occasions for Instructor Excellence Awards, winning the ICT Award in 2016 and 2017. He also received an Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development from the University of Texas in 2013. He is an active member of the SAIT community and has conducted a number of formal and informal courses with faculty on the use of mobile technology in the classroom.
Prior to joining the faculty team at SAIT, Stroobant was an active member in the broadcast industry, spending most of his 25-year career in the Calgary area. Notably, he was a multi-award-winning producer with CJAY 92 for almost 20 years. He is well respected in the industry and continues to foster strong relationships locally, nationally and internationally.
Stroobant's education includes a diploma in Radio from SAIT and a variety of specialized training in both industry and education.
