Mentorship Team Leader

The Student Engagement Office is looking for dynamic and dedicated students with prior mentorship experience to assist with the promotion, growth and delivery of the SAIT  Peer Mentorship program. Mentorship Team Leads will oversee a group of 3-5 peer mentors on a weekly basis.

Interfaith Centre Student Leader

The SAIT  Interfaith Centre offers a variety of spiritual and faith-based programming that promotes cooperation, community, interfaith dialogue and a sense of belonging for students and staff of any background  – both faith and non-faith based. The Interfaith Centre is looking for dynamic and dedicated students who want to assist with the development and delivery of Interfaith Centre programming, events and individual chaplaincy activities.

Student Engagement Student Leader

SAIT’s Student Engagement Office works to support the success of students by delivering inclusive programming and strengthening the community. Student Engagement is looking for dynamic and dedicated students who want to assist with the development and delivery of Student Engagement programming and events. Our office delivers programming in the areas of orientation and transition, student leadership, volunteering and peer mentorship.

Study Abroad Student Leader

The Study Abroad office develops and supports a range of international opportunities to students including, short-term group exchanges, faculty-led group study programs and semester exchanges. Study Abroad is looking for dynamic and dedicated students who want to assist with the support, delivery, and promotion of Study Abroad programs and events. Student leaders will play an important role in the team and the operation of the office by helping organize and execute programs, projects and promotional activities.

International Centre Social Media and Marketing Student Leader

The Student Social Media and Marketing position will work with the digital and social media team at the  International Centre to build a physical and virtual space that is safe, inclusive, trusting and encourages a sense of belonging. Throughout the semester you will occasionally organize and promote events on and off campus to encourage engagement and a feeling of connection between students, the International Centre and SAIT community.

International Centre Student Photographer/Videographer

The Student Photographer/Videographer will work with  International Centre Staff to build a physical and virtual space that is safe, inclusive, trusting and encourages a sense of belonging. Throughout the semester you will capture photography and videography, organize and promote events on and off campus to encourage engagement and a feeling of connection between students, the International Centre and SAIT community.

International Centre Events Student Leader

The Events Assistant will work with International Centre Staff to build a physical and virtual space that is safe, inclusive, trusting and encourages a sense of belonging. Peer Learning Strategist

The SAIT recognizes the challenges that students with learning barriers experience in transitioning into the post-secondary environment and in their studies. To address these challenges, Accessibility Services is looking for Peer Learning Strategists to support Accessibility Services Welcome Week and to work with the Accessibility Services team by supporting a virtual student community throughout the academic year.

Outreach and Wellness Leader (OWL)

Student Development and Counselling are here to help students thrive at SAIT. Counsellors are available to assist with educational issues, personal concerns and career planning. Student Development and Counselling is currently hiring one Outreach and Wellness Leader (OWL) to work with counsellors and staff to assist in the delivery of positive mental health and wellness programs, through various campaigns and activities.

Training for all positions: Training for all successful candidates will be offered Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25.  Student Leaders will be required to attend one of these training dates.

Program Details

  • To be eligible for the LEADS program, you must be in the second semester or higher of a full-time SAIT program.
  • Leadership position commitments are for one academic year.
  • Program participants must complete a minimum of  3-5 hours of leadership involvement per week.  Leadership training and mandatory LEADS development workshops will also count towards co-curricular credit.
  • LEADS members will participate in a variety of reflective activities throughout the academic year and will be assessed based on relevant outcomes selected by their supervisor.
  • As a student leader, you’ll build your skills through hands-on work experience, leadership training and professional development opportunities throughout the year.  You’ll also gain credit for your co-curricular record.
