Life at SAIT

Geoff is leading the development of lean management methods and thinking in the School of Construction. Lean management is a suite of tools and techniques that are working to revolutionize how the construction industry approaches all aspects of the work.

Education

Geoff developed a passion for construction when, as a child, he visited job sites in northern Saskatchewan with his grandfather. He turned this passion into a career by studying Civil Engineering Technology at SAIT.

Geoff is now working on his Master of Education at Athabasca University.

Professional accomplishments

As a Project Manager and Estimator, Geoff has worked on commercial and industrial projects varying in size from $100,000 to $ 40 million.

He joined the SAIT Civil Engineering Technology faculty in 2018 with a focus on Project Planning and Estimating.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
