Life at SAIT

Christina brings over two decades of experience as a photojournalist to her Journalism classrooms, where she has been inspiring students since 2016. Teaching in both the Business Journalism and Continuing Education programs, Christina is passionate about guiding students to become powerful visual storytellers. Her classes emphasize the art of capturing authentic stories through photography and video, instilling the importance of truth and impact in every shot.

Outside the classroom, Christina is an advocate for accessibility and has spent nearly 20 years working to improve understanding and support for people with disabilities. This advocacy translates into her teaching philosophy, which prioritizes inclusivity and respect for diverse perspectives. When she’s not teaching, Christina can be found exploring Calgary’s hidden gems, freelancing for prominent media outlets like CBC, or experimenting with her cyanotype art business where she blends historic photographic techniques with modern fiber art.

Education

Christina graduated from SAIT's Photojournalism program, earning a spot on the President’s List. Her background in photojournalism includes coursework in news writing, feature writing, media ethics, and web design, skills she uses to develop innovative course content for her students.
