Course Description

Introduction to HVAC Systems

This course will help you develop an understanding of how Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC) control temperature, moisture content, air quality and air circulation in a conditioned space.

Our labs allow will allow you to view and examine various types of HVAC systems with respect to installation, components, and characteristics of systems. You will learn how to install residential HVAC appliances, equipment and duct systems. You will also learn how temperature, humidity and ventilation affect people, building structures and equipment.

HVAC training also covers:

  1. Interpreting residential and commercial multi-equipment blueprints
  2. Determining how filtration, circulation and noise affects total comfort
  3. Identification of fire and smoke containment devices
  4. Installation of fire dampers and fire stop flaps
