Cyber Security

As our world becomes increasingly connected, cyber security is more important than ever. This workshop sheds light on how encryption can protect our digital privacy.

Explore the world of cyber security. Designed for students in Grades 7 – 9, this 90-minute workshop will explore the security measures that are put into place to protect our privacy and information in our increasingly interconnected society. Students will build and utilize digital signatures to send encrypted messages through the internet that only they can decipher.

Please Note: Students will be required to have access to a computer to participate in the workshop. Teachers are encouraged to utilize a space with access to a projector, so students are able to follow the workshop while working on their individual devices.

  • Understanding basic concepts in cyber security such as digital signatures and encryption.
  • Learn how encryption is applied in common digital tasks and activities.
  • Send and receive an encrypted email.
