e-Learning programs

Students in e-Learning programs at SAIT are supplied with a laptop or device with the necessary software, files and applications needed for their program. Details will be provided by your program or Academic Chair.

e-Learning programs include:

Log in to your e-Learning laptop

Username: acdm\SAIT ID without leading zeros (123456)
Default password: birthdate, YYMMDD

⚙️ Your computer login password is the same as your SAIT email and Office 365 password. This is also the password you use to log in to SAIT wireless. If you change your password for one, you change your password for the others as well. Always change your password from the default after you log in the first time.

Collecting your e-Learning laptop

Tuition or confirmation of a student loan, as well as a $400 refundable security deposit, must be paid before pick up. 

Fall 2020 e-Learning laptop distribution

For the fall semester, SAIT is sending e-Learning laptops via courier to new students within Canada who have been fully admitted to their program, have paid their tuition/fees, and have completed and returned a digitally signed e-Learning contract. You will receive an email with details, along with the contract, soon. Please email its.assets@sait.ca if you have any questions.

Students in an e-Learning program who are studying outside of Canada will be contacted by the International Centre or their academic chair with more information.  

👉 Where is my contract?

Check your email for a message from its.assets@sait.ca which includes a PDF contract. This contract is customized to you and your new laptop, so you will need to complete that document. It may be in your junk mail folder.

If you cannot find the email, contact helpline@sait.ca and use the subject line “e-Learning laptop contract issue” and we will resend your contract.

👉 How do I sign my contract?

Your contract is a fillable PDF form and can be opened with Adobe Reader, which is free and available for computers and smart phones. Click on the fields to edit them or check the box and then save the file.  If you’re having difficulty, check for Adobe Reader updates. Again, if that doesn’t work, please contact helpline@sait.ca and use the subject line “e-Learning laptop contract issue”.

Please note: going forward students will have to provide their own laptop carrying cases. (A limited supply will be available at the SAIT Bookstore).

Returning your e-Learning laptop

Winter 2020 laptop returns

Graduating/withdrawing students: If you’re graduating or withdrawing at the end of the Winter 2020 semester, please hold onto your e-Learning laptop until SAIT reopens. In alignment with the Government of Alberta’s non-essential services guidelines, we are unable to facilitate laptop returns/refunds/purchases at this time. You will be notified by email once an updated return process is confirmed. Please watch your SAIT email for updates.

Continuing students: If you’re continuing in your SAIT program, please hold onto your laptop for future class use.
