COVID-19 update
With the health and safety of our students and employees top of mind, SAIT is following the Government of Alberta’s guidance specific to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please refer to the frequently asked questions at sait.ca/covid19 for the most up-to-date information about your studies, and for the latest details on SAIT's pandemic preparedness measures.
Due to COVID-19, the card office will be experiencing uncertain hours, however, if you have any questions or issues please contact card.office@sait.ca.
SAIT ID cards will not be available until students are able to return to campus. Payment receipts for courses and tuition may be accepted by vendors offering discounts in the interim.
Update: Wednesday, Jan. 13
SAIT eCards
New students in a blended program can visit campus on Wednesdays (Jan. 13th, 20th, and 27th) any time between 9 am and 4 pm to pick up a new SAIT eCard. Come to AA211 in Heritage Hall. Learn more about what’s required when visiting campus during COVID-19 here.
Other students – anyone not a new student in an apprentice or blended program - who require an eCard must contact the eCard office to make arrangements by emailing card.office@sait.ca.
The SAIT eCard is your official SAIT identification (ID) card and gives you access to facilities across campus including:
- * SAIT Recreation
- Reg Erhardt Library
- and student health services.
With your eCard, you are able to load funds onto it so you can eat and shop on campus at various locations — Starbucks, Subway, Odyssey Coffeehouse, SAIT Bookstore, SAIT Corner Store, Second Cup, Jugo Juice, Culinary Campus, the Highwood, and to access printing on campus.
Your eCard must be shown to obtain a Universal Transit Pass (UPass)*, a laptop for e-Learning programs*, educational software discounts and your locker.
*Subject to change. Refer to the fee table to see what is included with your program tuition fees.
Eligibility
All current students qualify for a SAIT eCard and can continue to use it as long as they are a registered student. Returning SAIT students who already have a student ID eCard do not require to get a new one and can continue to use their eCard. Your eCard is non-transferable and you may only use it for the services offered. Your eCard will be subject to forfeiture if presented by anyone else.
Students must meet the eligibility requirements to use the Reg Erhardt Library, Wellness Centre and UPass.
eCards can be issued for guests as a non-photo eCommerce card that can be used at participating merchants on campus. Guest eCards are available from the Phil Station located across from the SAIT Bookstore. A minimum of $5 is required for the initial load onto the eCard. |
Only your legal first and last name can be printed on your eCard, which must match your government-issued photo ID. No nicknames are allowed.

Submit your photo online and we will pre-print your SAIT ID card before you arrive on campus. All eligible students will receive an email from Transact Online Photo Submission with a link and instructions.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions on campus, there will be a specific procedure for card pick up. Details are being finalized and more information will be provided via email and on this page as available.
