I am a Registered Psychologist in Alberta and have a PhD in Counselling Psychology.

I grew up in Poland and immigrated to Canada as a young adult. I studied psychology in Canada and the USA. I have been working as an educational counsellor at SAIT for several years.

I was attracted to psychology as a science, and I still prefer to work in ways that can be measured. Therefore, my main therapeutic approaches include cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, acceptance and commitment therapies, as well as clinical hypnosis. My main professional interests include health psychology, improving performance (academic, athletic and other), pain management and sleep. I will encourage clients to observe themselves and draw conclusions, find out what works and repeat it. I am also drawn to discussing existential issues, religion and spirituality; these issues naturally connect to work on processing grief, choosing life goals and finding your place in the world. My newest interest is the impact of climate change on mental health; I am open to discussing this complex problem in a productive way.

In my free time, I love to connect with nature through gardening, birdwatching, hiking, bike touring and other activities. I regularly volunteer for nature conservation and citizen science projects around the world.

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.

We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
