Calgary has lot of great festivals and events during the summer.  Here are some options for this summer, which we have paired with either a book or movie that might spark your interest:

Calgary Folk Music Festival

July 25 – 28, 2019
Prince’s Island Park

The Calgary Music Festival, celebrating its 40th anniversary, features over 70 musical artists from Alberta, the rest of Canada and around the world on various stages at Prince's Island Park. The site also includes an interactive family area, an international craft market, global culinary delights, a record tent, and tree-shaded beer gardens.
